Jacqui Basham is a relational integrative counsellor, meaning she integrates the three main approaches; Person Centred, Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
Jacqui trained in New Zealand and qualified with a Bachelor of Health Science in counselling, working for two organisations as an Integrative, psychodynamic and bereavement counsellor before returning to the UK. Drawing upon her counselling expertise and a wealth of life experiences, Jacqui is committed to providing a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental environment that supports individuals on their journey of healing.
Embarking on the path to therapy can be daunting, as it often requires individuals to open up and examine their inner experiences. Jacqui adopts a collaborative and compassionate approach, enabling clients to delve deeply into their concerns, embrace the natural processes of emotional healing, resolve conflicts, and identify effective strategies for fostering and maintaining positive change. She offers guidance to help clients navigate a path forward that aligns with their values and aspirations while building upon their inherent resources, strengths, and resilience.
Jacqui has experience working with individuals and couples in clinical settings. She supports clients with issues such as anxiety, depression, loss, grief, trauma and relationship issues.
When working with couples, Jacqui is trained in a cutting edge and empirically validated intervention. Emotionally Focused Therapy supports couples to re-connect, identify demon cycles in their relationship and learn to understand each other better.
